Meet The Owner

Jessie was born and raised in the area surrounding Corinth, Mississippi and moved to Florence, Al in 2004. She has considered it her unofficial hometown ever since. Jessie was educated in the homeschool model, participating in co-ops, and group classes while also seeking out her own individualized educational experiences. She actively created
her own educational endeavors. She created various exhibits for state museums, participated in mock government at the national level, and dual enrolled in college courses from the age of 15 until she graduated at 17.

This eclectic and unique approach to education is foundational to who Jessie is and how she approaches the education of others, including her own children. Jessie double majored in History and Biology at the University of North Alabama. While there, Jessie was the president of the Tri Beta honors society for 3 years as well as the regional president for 2 years. Jessie graduated from UNA in 2012.

She joined the staff of Trinity Episcopal Church as a children’s minister in 2012. Jessie was responsible for the formational ministry of the children of the church, leading them in Wednesday night and Sunday morning programming. As the years progressed, Jessie continued to discover new ways to expand the impact of children’s ministry in the church, taking what began as a Wednesday night ministry for 4th -6th graders and eventually expanding it to include classes for 2-4 year olds, and K-3.

In 2014, Jessie began a program that has become a community staple in Summer childcare and formational programming. Trinity’s Summer Series began serving 35 children from 9-1 on Mondays. Over the last 10 years, Jessie has grown Summer Series in to a program that serves as many as 120 children from the community on Mondays and Fridays from 8-2, with an opportunity for extended care to 4:00 to support working parents in our community. Summer Series has provided quality childcare for children aged 2-12 while also including volunteer opportunities for youth ages 12-16. This project has been instrumental in showing Jessie the continued need that our community has for new and unique ways of approaching childcare and
education.

Jessie wrote all of Summer Series programming each year for every age group during her time at Trinity, and in doing so, she has found a passion and gift for creating educational and formational curriculum and resources. Jessie has taken this passion and utilizes it to create educational resources on everything from otters to volcanoes and Peter to Paul. Jessie now maintains an online store front where you can purchase the resources and curriculum that she continues to add to her library of resources that you can find here. Jessie’s mission and the mission of SEER, is to ensure that there are resources and opportunities available for every educational journey, especially those that choose to step off of the established path as she has continued to do throughout her life. Come join us ,and see where your journey leads!

You can find her at SEER Tuesday through Saturday from 10am-2pm or at one of our classes or camps.
