Service Description
Nature Academy Explorers is a hands-on STEAM class where curious kids learn essential outdoor skills through science, creativity, and exploration. From knot tying and shelter building to solar ovens and seed preservation, students gain confidence, problem-solving skills, and a deeper connection to the natural world—all while having fun outside. Knots & Shelter Building In this hands-on outdoor class, students will learn essential knot-tying skills and put them to use by designing and building simple shelters. Explorers will practice tying practical knots used in camping and survival, then work together to create sturdy, weather-smart shelters using natural and provided materials. This session builds problem-solving, teamwork, and engineering skills while helping students gain confidence and independence in the outdoors. February 21 - Knots and how to create shelter February 28 - Sundial and how to use a compass March 7 - Create a battery March 21 - using water to generate power April 4 - create a thermometer April 18 - Fire safety May 2 - Seed preservation and foraging May 16 - Solar Oven Each class blends environmental science, engineering, and critical thinking with hands-on activities that encourage teamwork, creativity, and resilience. Lessons are age-appropriate, interactive, and rooted in real-world applications, helping students connect classroom concepts to the natural environment around them. This class is perfect for curious learners who enjoy being outdoors, asking questions, and experimenting. Whether building a sundial, preserving seeds, or designing a solar oven, students will leave each session with new skills, confidence, and a stronger appreciation for nature. Individual classes are $15 each.
